Data literacy: people and initiatives

#1

Hi there!

Data Literacy is a quite new but growing domain. Who? What? Where? Below is a quick compilation of identified initiatives and people involved. I have put in particular most past speakers at Data Literacy Conference but also went further (including some initiatives where data literacy is not their core activity). Should we need a map? a directory? a “twitter accounts related to”? Should we include data designers? Probably we would need to make categories: education, business, non-profit… What about initiatives closed to data literacy but not really related to such as OpenStreetMap cartoparties, data labs (including very different initiatives)? What about software companies such as Qlik, Tableau, etc.?

Analytics Hero, Aviz, Axis Academy, Catherine D’Ignazio, la Coop Infolab (fr), Data Carpentry, Data collaboratives, Data Cuisine, Data for decisions, Data Literacy Conference, Data Literates, Data mindset playbook from MoData, Data pop Alliance, Data to the people, Data & Society, DataBasic.io, Databrarians, Datactivi.st (fr), Datajournalism handbook, Dataliteracy.de, Dataphys.org, Datassist, Datatherapy, Datopolis, Dear Data, Fréquence Écoles (fr), infolabs.io (fr), Jose Duarte (Handmadevisuals), J++, LINC (fr), Medialab de Science Po (fr), Mission drive, Open Knowledge, Pauline Gourlet, School of Data, le Tubà (fr), Tuvalabs, Using data, Utrecht Data School.
